Contributors cannot share their piece outside of the Discord server until the mods permit it after the zine release.

Contributors are expected to communicate regularly with mods.

Participants that miss two check-ins without any active communication with the mods will be removed from the project.

Contributors may be removed from the project at any time for breaking the guidelines outlined in this page.

This includes, but is not limited to: plagiarism, harassment, racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, name-calling, slurs, or other hateful rhetoric.

Contributors engaging in harmful behavior outside of the project or found to be using AI in their pieces will also be removed.

Contributors will retain full rights to their work and are free to edit, resell, or redistribute their pieces after the project's conclusion.

Sonic-related samples are highly encouraged, but not required.

Your portfolio and samples are easily accessible with no boundaries.

Double check that all submitted links are correct and active prior to submitting your application

Google Drive links are preferred, but other portfolio sites—such as Carrd—are acceptable

If you use a social media platform in place of your portfolio, your finished pieces should be easy to find, such as through a dedicated blog or tag

Make sure your samples are not restricted—i.e. on a private account, behind a paywall, etc.—double check all privacy settings before submitting your application!

Do not use Discord to host image links. These links only have a temporary domain and will only be viewable for a short period of time before becoming inaccessible

NSFW and/or gory content is properly labeled

Kept it in a separate section within your portfolio and appropriately warned in your application

If you are applying as a Page Artist, at least one sample must contain an engaging & detailed background. This means a background that is not a single flat color or gradients

A zine is a collection of creative works made with the intent of being put together as a book, themed around a certain subject. The term "zine" is derived from the word "magazine." A zine can be created by an individual or as a collaborative team project

Ephemeral Eternities is a collaborative zine centered around the connections between the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and the concept of time.

Contributor Applications will be posted to our Tumblr and Bluesky on December 3rd! You must fill out the designated form for the role(s) of your choice before December 3rd to be considered for acceptance. Application results will be sent out on january 9th 2027.

If you're interested in joining the moderation team, Mod Apps will open on August 22th, close on September 05th, and results will be sent out on September 25th.

The zine intends to be PG-13. Or, in AO3 terms, rated T. This means that canon-typical violence, non-graphic depictions of injuries, romance without explicit sexual interaction, and depictions of grief and trauma are allowed and may be included in the zine. Any content with maturity beyond the listed is not allowed.

As this zine aims to highlight the connections between time and canonical events within the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, we'd like to focus more on official material. However, AUs will still be permitted by the mods on a case by case basis. We are more open to allowing canon divergent stories over full-blown alternate universes.

No, this zine will be digital-release only. You are welcome to print it out on you own time once it releases, however!

Yes. Discord will be the primary form of communication between the mods and contributors. Joining the Discord is required in order to stay up to date and contribute to the zine. If you don't already have a Discord account, please consider making one if you wish to join!
